Dear Students, Colleagues, Partners, and Visitors,<\/p>\n

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Educational Psychology and Counselling at the School of Education, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA).<\/p>\n

Our department stands at the forefront of educational transformation, playing a vital role in advancing psychological well-being, inclusive education, and counselling practices across Tanzania and beyond. As an integral part of SUA\u2019s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community service, we are proud to contribute to the development of competent, compassionate, and forward-thinking professionals.<\/p>\n

We offer dynamic undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that combine strong academic foundations with practical experiences. Our curriculum is designed to foster critical inquiry, ethical practice, and innovation in areas such as counselling, mental health, special needs education, psychological assessment, and assistive technology. These programmes are carefully aligned with national priorities and global trends, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to address current and emerging educational and psychosocial challenges.<\/p>\n

Beyond the classroom, our department actively engages in research, consultancy, and outreach through our specialized units. These include the Inclusive Education Unit, Mental Health Unit, Disability and Rehabilitation Unit, and the Assistive Technology and Neurodivergent Support Unit. Our ongoing projects and partnerships aim to create real-world impact\u2014empowering individuals, supporting schools and communities, and influencing policies that promote equity and inclusion.<\/p>\n

As Head of Department, I am honored to lead a team of dedicated academic and professional staff who are passionate about student success and societal advancement.
